TMATE - FWISD (Alternative Certification)

Provided by Tarleton State University and the Fort Worth Independent School District.
Teach for Fort Worth ISD while working towards your Texas teacher certification.
The certification coursework is provided by Tarleton State University and taught in Fort Worth.
Length of program is 12 to 16 months depending on certification area.

DEADLINES:

November 15, 2006 for EC-4 ESL and Bilingual, 4-8 Generalist, and Special Education

New Deadline - February 5, 2007 for Bilingual, 4-8 Generalist, and Special Education

March 30, 2007 for 4-8 and 8-12 Content Area Certification

TMATE-FWISD (Tarleton Model for Accelerated Teacher Education and Fort Worth Independent School District) offer you the opportunity to prepare for a teaching position in the Fort Worth school system!

Minimum Application Requirements:

BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university
(degrees from outside the United States must be equivocated by an approved agency)
2.75 overall grade point average (GPA) and 2.5 or better in last 60 hours
(must have 2 official transcripts from every college/university you attended)
Passing scores on either THEA/TASP or acceptable GRE scores
