The FWISD uses credit by examination
for the following purposes: (a) acceleration (no prior instruction),
(b) credit retrieval(prior instruction), and (c) placement/validation
(prior instruction). A staff member is usually designated by
the principal as the campus test coordinator (i.e., an academic
coordinator, or a counselor, or assistant principal). This person
distributes test information to students and parents and helps
coordinate testing activities. Testing procedures vary between
foundation and enrichment courses. Foundation and enrichment
curricula are defined below.
Foundation Curriculum shall be
defined as (A) English alnguage arts; (B) mathematics; (C) science;
(D) social studies, consisting of Texas, United States, world
history, government, and geography.
Enrichment Curriculum shall be
defined as (A) languages other than English; (B) health; (C)
physical education; (D) fine arts; (E) career and technology
education
