On Air Scheduling
The FWISD Faculty and Staff may request a program be taped to air on the education channel if it meets the following criteria:
1. Must be for the district (we
do not videotape personal events)
2. Must have districtwide appeal (in-service, guest speakers,
presentations, etc.)
Once these criteria are met you can receive a Production Planning Request Form that must have final approval from the ITV Coordinator. The Coordinator/Producer will set up a time to meet with you and discuss your proposal and to set up a shooting schedule.
Services Available to
District
FWISD Faculty and Staff may also edit their own VHS programs that they have created for the district Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm by simply setting up an appointment with the ITV department. The ITV staff will show you how to work our easy-to-operate editing system and be available if you have any questions. For more information call (817) 922-3560.
FWISD Faculty and Staff can request up to 20 VHS duplications of programs that have aired on the channel at a cost of $15.00 per program, per tape.
We also offer these duplications rates for any school related program that is non-copyrighted material or you provide, for us, written permission from the licensing agency.
ITV Taping and Editing
The Instructional Television Department handles a number of different types of productions for FWISD:
Remote Productions:
On location shooting of programs, public service announcements and press conferences.Studio Productions:
Created in our 5,000 square foot studio with the capability of numerous set options including virtual reality.Truck Productions:
On location shooting what allows ITV to create programs that use more than one camera simultaneously to create different angles.
ITV also has editing capabilities that include:
Tape to tape editing:
A linear format that allows editing from one format to another using VHS, VHS-C, SVHS, 3/4" and DVCPro tape formats as well as graphic capabilities with the Amiga Video Toaster 2000 and 4000.Non Linear editing:
ITV has three nonlinear systems: Avid Non Linear Edit System, Screenplay Non Linear Edit System, and Avid Non Linear Edit System. Each system allows for more flexibility when creating programs for the district.
