Credit by Exam

The Fort Worth ISD uses credit by examination for the following purposes: (A) acceleration (no prior instruction), (B) credit retrieval (prior instruction), and (C) placement/validation (prior instruction). Testing procedures vary between foundation and enrichment courses. Foundation and enrichment curricula are defined below.

Foundation Curriculum shall be defined as (A) English language arts; (B) mathematics; (C) science; (D) social studies, consisting of Texas, United States, world history, government, and geography.

Enrichment Curriculum shall be defined as (A) languages other than English; (B) health; (C) physical education; (D) fine arts; (E) career and technology education; (F) technology education; and (G) economics, with emphasis on the free enterprise system and it's benefits.
