2007 Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
In November 2007, voters approved a $593.6 million Bond Referendum, including $551.9 million to be used for construction of new schools, additions, and renovations to existing schools and athletic facilities.
I’ve been honored to lead the 2007 Capital Improvement Program since its planning stages from inception to completion in November of 2011. I appreciate the contributions and commitment of the CIP staff and the Program Manager. They, along with the Architects, General Contractors, and multiple consultants and vendors, safely delivered a first class program, building state-of-the-art facilities on time and on budget. The CIP team also delivered on our commitment to the public regarding operational efficiency, transparency, and sustainable design practices.
Currently, the CIP is in a one year extension to build more improvements throughout the district; continuing with the implementation of more than $90 million in savings realized through the Program. As my duties transition in my new role as Superintendent of Schools, I will continue to provide general oversight and I trust that my team will continue to deliver with excellence and to exceed the expectations from our Principals, teachers, staff, students, parents and community at large.
This website is intended to serve the Fort Worth community and keep the public informed throughout all phases of project development: planning, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction phases. It also provides valuable information to the design and construction industry regarding vendor opportunities and HUB participation.
