Juan Rangel is the principal of JRE Fort Worth where he specializes in private and public problem solving, funding and project management. He has earned a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of North Texas. During the last thirty-two years, Mr. Rangel has served on numerous major boards and committees.  In 2007, Mr. Rangel was a candidate for the Fort Worth City Council, District 9.

Mr. Rangel believes that no child should ever fail in school.  He has worked tirelessly in addressing school dropout issues with the Stay in School Conferences and has been an organizing force behind FWISD’s  Project Prevail and Parent Engagement Office.

 Mr. Rangel worked to bring the Junior ROTC Junior Corp Cadets to Fort Worth middle schools. He helped address the dangers of drugs and alcohol through the Red Ribbon Rally.  He is married to Dr. Patricia L. Rangel, Director of the FWISD Early Childhood Department. They have one son, Juan A. Rangel, III, an Anthropology major, who will soon graduate from the University of North Texas, in Denton, Texas.

• District 8 Class of 2007 graduates received more than $6.7 million in scholarship offers
• Strong Community in Schools partnership with Beth El Congregation, record number of donated school supplies and volunteer hours at school
• “Back to the Future” Week at De Zavala: College Awareness and Future Occupations program for all students (Coinciding with Career Day)
• First-ever De Zavala Math Bee, showcasing students’ multiplication facts
• Over 100 students received Holiday Assistance (e.g., gifts, clothing) for the past holiday season from various community agencies and partners
• Continued Six Weeks Awards Assembly for each grade 1 – 5, recognizing students in the All “A” Honor Roll, All “A/B” Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Most Improved, and Best Citizen with Character
• De Zavala Quilt Show, showcasing student & parent-produced quilts based on yearly selected themes

• All Hubbard Heights ES students received dictionaries donated by Rotary International
• 90 Paschal and Trimble Tech students named as Superintendent’s Scholars for the 2007-2008 school year
• Monique Lampkin, a 5th grade at Daggett Montessori is the 2007 winner of the Performing Arts Fort Worth Children’s Education program essay contest
• Hubbard Heights received a TEA Gold Performance Award for Attendance in 2005-2006.
• Maria Hale’s Pre-K class at Hubbard Heights was honored as a Certified Preschool Program by TEA
• Daggett Montessori had highest 8th grade PSAT scores in FWISD
• Daggett Montessori student Drew Nelson went to the state level in the Geography Bee
• Richard J. Wilson ES received the Gold Performance Award for TAKS performance in Math and Science
• Wilson ES is participating in the Real Schools Initiative  - Garden Project
• Wilson ES students who are finalists in the Safe Cities Art Contest include Edher Castaneda, Carla Munoz and Glenna Tijerina
