Procedures for Addressing the
Board of Education

The Board of Education meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room located at 2903 Shotts Street.  Check the District Web site for specific meeting dates. 

Individuals who wish to speak must complete and turn in a speaker card prior to the start of the meeting.  Cards will not be accepted after the meeting has been gaveled to order. Blank speaker cards are available in the Board Room lobby prior to each meeting.  Speakers should limit their remarks to three (3) minutes or less.  Remarks will be timed.

It is traditional for speakers to begin their comments by addressing “Dr. Koehler, Dr. Johnson and members of the Board…” followed by their name and a brief sentence outlining the subject matter on which they wish to speak.

First Meeting

The first meeting of the month speakers may only address items on the agenda.  When the Board comes to the specific item on the agenda, the Board President will invite the speaker to come forward and speak.

Second Meeting

The second meeting of the month allows speakers to address the Board on any topic.  At the appropriate time during the meeting, the Board President will invite the speaker to come forward and speak.
