FOCUS IS ON NEW STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
Fort Worth, Texas (January 25, 2013) - The Fort Worth ISD Board of Education recently approved the purchase of a new student information system. Working with the Center for Educational Leadership and Technology (CELT), District stakeholders and end-users spent several months interviewing, visiting and evaluating products submitted by top vendors, eventually selecting the system produced by Focus School Software.
Focus soon will begin replacing the current Connects system with full implementation at all schools in the fall of 2013. Training and campus awareness will be key to a successful transition.
To assist with that training and implementation, Focus Leadership Teams have been selected at each campus.
· These four to five-person teams will attend a one-hour orientation session on either Monday or Tuesday, February 4 or 5, 2013, in the auditorium of I.M. Terrell Elementary School, 1411 I.M. Terrell Circle.
· To select a specific time, each team member should register through Avatar, FWISD’s online course registration system.
· Access to Avatar is available on the Educators page of the District web site.
Campus leadership teams will receive an e-mail on Monday, January 28, 2013, detailing the steps.
“The waiting is over. We are now ready to share this new system with our campus Focus teams,” said Dr. Sue Guthrie, co-project leader.
Next, the campus leadership teams are expected to attend an online webinar on Monday, February 11, 2013. This information session will ensure team members are up-to-date and prepared to lead their colleagues through training.
If you have any questions contact the Project Team Managers Sue Guthrie, Marcia Formby or Chief of Technology Kyle Davie directly. Learn more about the implementation of this new system on the Focus Student Information System web page.
