What: Coach Robert Hughes Sr. Day at Dunbar High School

Where: Dunbar High School Auditorium, 5700 Ramey Ave, Ft. Worth
Summary: On Friday, December 7, 2012, Fort Worth ISD’s Dunbar High School Class of 1975 and the current students, teachers and staff of Dunbar will honor the contributions of their former coach by proclaiming Coach Robert Hughes, Sr. Day.
This event will celebrate the accomplishments of Coach Hughes and provide Dunbar HS students an opportunity to recognize the history of their school, their alumni and their role in continuing the legacy that Coach Hughes initiated.
Coach Hughes was the head coach at Dunbar High School from 1973 until he retired in 2005. He also coached at I.M. Terrell High School. During his tenure, he won five state basketball titles and coached his way to 1,333 wins which made him the winningest high school basketball coach of all times.
Scheduled speakers include Dale Hansen of WFAA and Bob Ray Sanders of the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Additionally, there will be several proclamations and presentations to Coach Hughes during the event.
The celebration will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Dunbar High School auditorium located at 5700 Ramey Avenue.
